A Historic Location
Originally started as the historic Alpine Club in 1938, this establishment served as a casual watering hole for locals and occasionally some not-so-legal gambling. Best known as a favorite location of Ernest Hemingway, the Apline’s historical roots are still alive and well within the newly remodeled Whiskey’s on Main.
Since then, it became the Alpine Saloon, until 1977, when it was purchased, remodeled, and renamed – Whiskey Jacques.
“Whiskey’s”, as it is known by the locals and visitors from around the world has been a mainstay to the ski town nightlife of the Sun Valley Resort Community since 1977, being the premier live music venue for our resort town.

In 2008 a terrible fire started in the adjacent building that spread to Whiskey’s and burnt it to the ground. With help from the entire community, the space was rebuilt and like a phoenix rising from the ashes and saw numerous years of business.
A New Vision for the Future
Summer of 2023 saw a number of large changes, the largest being a full renovation from top to bottom.
The new look of Whiskeys still covers all the needs of the local community. Within this refreshed space you’ll still find casual, elevated bar food, craft signature cocktails, a variety of beers on draft, and family-friendly dining.
With the return of a live music venue in downtown Ketchum, you’ll be sure to find a spot on the dance floor or on the upstairs patio with views of Bald Mountain in the backdrop.
Whiskey’s provides options to locals, residents, visitors, and tourists. Whiskey’s serves to fill the needs of a small mountain resort town. Whiskey’s is the “Cheers Bar” for the happy hour crew, a family-oriented restaurant where children are welcome during the day, a sports bar with 15 flatscreen TVs, and a live music venue for dancing the night away.
Looking for something a bit more intimate? Whiskeys on Main can accommodate a number of private parties ranging from 25-250 guests. Everything from wedding rehearsals, receptions, birthday parties, family reunions, major sporting events, and much more.
